In 1980, Tilman J. Fertitta became a partner in the first Landry's Seafood in Katy, Texas, and acquired controlling interest of the restaurant in 1986. He went public with Landry's Restaurants, Inc. in 1993, making Landry's Seafood the flagship restaurant of a company that now boasts more than 250 properties across the United States.
